SYNOPSIS

The training, Harm Reduction Myth-busters: What can law enforcement learn from working with harm reduction? was developed specifically for law enforcement to gain a better understanding of harm reduction services. This training will provide an overview of harm reduction, how stigma contributes to problematic substance use, an overview of substance use disorder, and how law enforcement and harm reduction can work together.

OBJECTIVE

By the end of the training, participants will:

·       Have a basic understanding of harm reduction

·       Know what harm reduction looks like throughout Oregon

·       Be able to identify supplies distributed by harm reduction

·       Have a basic understanding of treatment options

·       Be able to dispel myths about harm reduction
