SYNOPSIS

This is a foundation specialty course designed for peace officers who are currently assigned or will be assigned to investigate sensitive cases and investigations. This course will provide concepts, techniques, and investigative skills for newly assigned narcotic officers, task force agents, plainclothes officers, and uniform patrol who are or may be assigned to specialized units and operations.

OBJECTIVE

Undercover Operations; Cover Story and Backstopping; Operational Red Flags and Warning Signs; Fentanyl Investigations; Confidential Informants (CI); CI Development; CI Management; Policies and Procedures; Ethical Issues; Equipment and Tools; Takedown Location; Team Integrity, Security, and Communication; Surveillance Techniques; Operational Plans – Preparing, Planning, and Briefing; Situational Awareness and Risk Based Decision Making; Plainclothes Safety; Survival Skills – On/Off Duty; Use of Force Continuum.
