SYNOPSIS

The course covers the search and seizure basics specific to mobile devices, determining what information is available from the cell phone companies and how to obtain it, how to recover digital evidence and intelligence from the handset using free software tools, and how to avoid legal landmines.

OBJECTIVES

The course will cover : Search and seizure; Search warrants, Court orders and subpoenas; Investigating a phone number; Who to contact for records; Blocked phone numbers; Disposable or “burner” phones; Preventing remotely deleting data; Cell phone handsets; Dealing with locked phones; Free and low cost tools; Hidden EXIF data; Cell tower data.
