Naloxone is a life-saving medication that has been shown to reduce opioid overdose mortality. Idaho organizations and residents can request free naloxone from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW). In 2025, IDHW distributed approximately 83,290 doses of naloxone throughout the state, or about one dose per 24 Idahoans.
