COURSE FLYER

INSTRUCTOR

Caren Cambre brings more than 30 years of courtroom experience into her classrooms and training sessions. As a law school advocacy professor and a law enforcement witness trainer, she draws upon her hundreds of jury trials to train law students, young lawyers, and law enforcement officers in the many aspects of criminal litigation. The law school courses she teaches include Mock Trial, Trial Advocacy, Advanced Trial Advocacy and Evidence in the Courtroom, Trial Evidence and Advocacy, Ethical Prosecutions, and Professional Responsibility. As an advocacy professor and mock trial coach, she has used her extensive trial experience to teach lawyers presentation strategies for preparing and presenting witness testimony and questioning witnesses. Recognizing that the answers given by witnesses are critical to successful trials, she identified a need to teach law enforcement officers to become effective and credible witnesses.

Professor Cambre’s approach to teaching focuses on learning by doing, individualized and constructive critique, and a passion for teaching that is contagious.

As a career homicide prosecutor in New York and Louisiana, she worked extensively with law enforcement conducting investigations and presenting their testimony throughout the litigation. She led the most serious cases to successful trial results, in part by developing a serious and consistent approach to the testimony of hundreds of law enforcement personnel. Her program, Law Enforcement on the Stand, incorporates all the elements of a long career serving justice, dedication for teaching others about trial work and a deep respect for the service of law enforcement everywhere.
