SYNOPSIS
This is the premier Blue to Gold Course and the only search and seizure training Nationally Certified by IDALEST. This course is designed for experienced law enforcement officers who already possess a background knowledge and functional experience in search and seizure law. The instruction is advanced and fast-paced and used case studies to explain the development and the current status of the legal aspects of searches and seizures.
This advanced course covers the most important legal issues for proactive narcotics officers and street officers. Topics include undercover operations inside homes and businesses; writing and executing drug warrants; knock and announce issues; anticipatory warrants; K9 searches; vehicle stops, including pretext “wall stops”; and much much more.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
Participants will receive a completion certificate and the latest edition of the Search and Seizure Survival Guide. In addition to acquiring a solid understanding of the Fourth Amendment, students will learn about:
Fourth Amendment Search and Seizure
Legal issues regarding search and seizure by police officers
Building solid probable cause, confidential informants, and citizen informants
Dealing with homes, warrantless entry, deception and ruses
Police liability
Interview and interrogation law

REGISTRATION
This course is free and open to all law enforcement investigators, supervisors and managers, and state and federal prosecuting attorneys. Attendance is limited to 40 students.
